    Too much excitement
In all my excitement I posted this thread in wildlife instead of landscapes. Sorry about that. Any comments are still welcome if anyone is interested. Thanks.

    Benjamin,

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with the scale issue, unfortunately I was in a no surf zone standing on a rock in the middle of the water, so if I had seen a shark, even if it was eating a squirrel, I would have passed out and become shark bait.

I'll keep posting, I have tons of things to post and get good advice on from good folks like you. I appreciate you looking and thanks again for your insights.:D

Welcome Travellerbug. First, the photo can be bigger. I'd take advantage of the pixel posting size allotment for the photos. :D Second, the photo looks like it was taken in a beautiful area. The blues are nice. Personally, to give the photo more "interest", I would have loved to have seen the waves washing over the rocks (coral?) more. Anyhow, welcome again. It's a great place.

    Maestro,

Thanks for the welcome and the much needed advice. I have tons of shots that I can post that are similar to what you suggested (about crashing over rocks, etc.). I'll get those posted soon hopefully. This may sound like a dumb question, but I played with the sizing on this one to get it down to the size limit that it will allow you to upload. How do I maximize the pixel size (in PS) to 1200 x 800 without compromising the dpi? If I make it a decent sized dpi, then the file is too large to upload. Any suggestions? I tried a million combos but they all made the shot grainy.

Thanks for everything and if you have any suggestions, lay them on me.

    Hi Leaforte,

Thanks for the welcome. I'll be a posting fool once I figure out how to post a larger picture without compromising the dpi quality. I mentioned this to Maestro, any suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Thanks again!

You can resize to 800 X 600 and that should keep you under the limit or from your SmugMug gallery just cut and paste the url of the medium sized picture. SmugMug should will resize the original to fit here if it is the medium sized version. Heck the large may even keep it under the limit. If you do not have a SmugMug account, Photobucket pics resized to 800 X 600 also work.

Thanks a lot for the info. I will definitely try this and see how it goes. I am in the process of getting a SmugMug account, but right now all my work is on Picassa (dirty word) I know. I appreciate the info and look forward to talking again soon.
