I recently had the opportunity to do a senior shoot in the warmth of Florida. Here is one of the shots... please let me know what you think. (I'm not sure what I think of the B&W conversion... and also let me know if you think the texture was too much)

I like it. Great capture. Can we see it in color?

    The texture works for me.

My only nit is the left arm appears a little brighter than the face. It draws attention slightly away from the face. If there's a way to flip-flop those, I think you have a winner.

Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular.

Why do people post their equipment in their sig. Isn't it kind of like bragging? That having been said...

Nate, the shot itself is fine, but I think the conversion feels a little flat.

Maybe just a bit more "pop".

I agree..perhaps a bit more contrast would help.

ok, I've heard from a few of you, and some others as well, that it didn't have enough "pop" or what have you. So here is an attempt at reprocessing it. I may have over done it... let me know.

Yup....maybe a bit less in the jeans area...but her face and hair look much better.

I really like the second version. The only thing I would say is that the jeans sort of compete for attention with the face now, so if you reduced the effect on the jeans it might balance out perfectly. I.e. create a layer mask and brush the jeans at say 50% opacity or so on whatever layer you used to add contrast (high pass maybe?).

EDIT: Jeff beat me to it... so, what he said.
