Ordered Prints True Color and Auto - How Do I Know Which is Which?

I ordered a few prints lately in all 4 finishes and also with true color and auto color in each finish so I could compare them.

I got them last week - but how do I know which is which? Does the code on the back of the print give a hint as to which method of printing was used?

I can tell of course which finish is which, and can tell a slight difference in each 'pair' of each finish but just want to make sure I'm making the right comparisons before I make any decisions...

Hi John I'm one of the print specialists here at SmugMug. It can be hard to tell the difference on some prints between Auto and True color if you don't know what to look for. Three of the main things to check are exposure, the shadows, and sharpening. Auto will brighten the image as a whole, brighten the shadows specifically, and sharpen the image. Try to look for those tell tale signs and if you need more help just holler.

Cool - I'll lay them out this weekend and compare based on those. This was my first set of true color, I usually get the auto and have been happy so far, thanks! thumb.gif
