I know technically it shouldn't be possible but the last PC I put together I used an InWin internal reader setup. It appears to give me better throughput than running an external reader through a USB 2.0 port.

I've seen that type now including the floppy drive and it all fits in a regular 3.5" enclosure.

Crucial is a good place to go and I've had success with Newegg.com. If you have a nearby OfficeMax or Staples you might be able to pick something up free after rebate. I got an external CF USB Reader free that way.

    Good luck!

If you've got an older PC, the USB is probably the old slow style. If you
have room in the chassis, go grab a USB 2.0 PCI card--less than $20
at Fry's. If you've got USB 2.0, then all you'll need is the reader. SIIG is
a reasonable brand for both parts.

David, also look to make sure the card reader is listed as Hi-Speed USB 2.0 which has a theoretical max throughput of 480Mbs. Conversely, "Full" speed is only rated at 12Mbs - go figure! ne_nau.gif

Bigger files will transfer more slowly, of course. And different flash cards output images (read) at different rates.
