Wrestling (the kind in the square circle)
Every year when the weddings are slow I shoot something purely for pleasure. My normal MO is to take something new, and make it look old. So I study the angles, and use similar equipment, and process to make it look like emulsion. I'm not yet down with replicating the grain structure (the good programs for this are very expensive) but I try to be pretty true to the spectral response. I shot this with a Sunpak 622 Super bare bulb flash with a homemade parabolic dish reflector (slurpy lid), my 40D with an 85mm prime and my 17-55 IS, ISO 800 1/250 sec. I'm not TOTALLY happy with the result (getting around the ropes is tough and being ringside is dangerous) but I'm happy enough to go back and try again. The experience was definitely something to remember.

I also shot some portraits of the wrestlers and tried to stay as true to the poses and quirks of the way they did them back in the day.

I think he is. He must have gotten it when dinosaurs still walked the earth, right?
Yes and he kept the Mavica plugged in ringside, swishing the cord around behind him. Not going to speak ill of him, he saved my ass by telling me to move more than once.
Really brings back memories for me - my grandma was a huge 'Stampede Wrestling' fan. The Hart family are local folk heros in these parts.
