That was a spur-of-the-moment shot. There was a stoppage of play and I didn't see what had happened, but a crew was scraping some blood off the ice. Gill turned around to face me and I saw the blood on his jersey and took the shot. How he got a bloody nose with that mask on is beyond me. This was a crop from about a 3/4 body shot.

Can we see the uncropped version? In this crop, we really can't see the blood and without your explaination, I don't think I would have realized anything was amiss. I think seeing the blood on the jersey might speak better to the ferocity of competing. Make sense?

Mike, the original had very little to show. The goalie's arms are across his chest covering up. If you look closely at the close-up, you can see a small drop of blood on his throat protector for what it's worth.

Yes, all shots were taken thru the glass. I just had to hunt around for a "clean" area, and keep a careful eye out for board crashes near or right at me which did happen a few times.
