Was on the drop blind in the kitchen, and on a blue tupperware lid.

Not perfect, a bit soft, but I had 2 bikes across the doorway so I struggled to get a good position.

It tried to scarper so I intercepted it with my finger tip, and the bugger went on to its back, and played dead.

I put it back on the blind afterwards :)

No spider was harmed in the making of this picturementary. :)

Paul.

Oh, I wish I'd known what was coming before I scrolled down! My palms are sweaty and I'm having trouble catching my breath. (Arachnophobia, anyone?)

The second one down is great. Very menacing, to me, at least. Had I witnessed a spider playing dead, I would have made sure he stayed that way. eek7.gif

    Thanks everyone. clap.gif

Brian, I still don't seem to have the clarity you have. Maybe its the lighting...

One day, if I ever ever get to the south coast (not much chance, the country will have a King by then) if someone knocks on your door, it'll be me asking for lessons!

    Paul.

    You'd be welcome :)

One difference could be my extensive use of fairly open apertures and focus stacking to get the DOF back - this is to avoid diffraction softening. I tend not to use smaller than F11 at 1:1 and progressivley open the aperture as the magnification goes up.

Are you sure you didn't use a stun gun on that guy? Nice shots.

    Absolutely not!

He/she was really quite docile. I guess spidrws sleep a lot over winter and maybe this one hadn't been awake long
