I'm planning on entering an exhibit next week and am undecided as to what to enter. I would greatly appreciate some feedback that would help me make a decision.

The theme needs to center around the Delaware and Raritan Canal located in New Jersey. If anyone perusing this thread is interested in learning more about this exhibit or knows someone who may be interested, the prospectus may be found here: http://home2.netcarrier.com/~drms/PDFs/d%26r_prospectus_2009.pdf

Thanks! :D

    Linda-
My favorite is #2 (Variation 2). I really like the processing you used here - perfect for this type of picture. I grew up in Bucks County (Warminster) and still visit my family who now lives in Dublin. My son & I were planning on hiking the Canal trail in the spring (part of a Boy Scout requirement), all of your photos really inspire me (these along with others you have posted from the Bucks County area) It will probably take us 3 times as long, because I'm going to keep stopping to take photos. Good luck with the exhibition.

Thanks, Stephanie. What a small world! The canal trail on the NJ side of the Delaware is in better shape than the one in PA. Sections of the one in PA were destroyed by flooding and the State hasn't bothered to repair them. :cry But there still are some passable areas. I know that the canal towpath from Washington Crossing up to Bowman's Hill is passable because I ran into a troop of boy scouts there not too long ago.

Thanks, Dan! I think that's the direction I'm going to go.

Now I need to find a matte and a frame. headscratch.gif

    Absolutely fabulous!

Variation 1 for me too. Like the opened up shadows.

Thanks, everyone, for helping steer me in a direction. iloveyou.gif I'll be framing the #2 piece (variation 2) this weekend. A simple black frame and off-white mat ought to do the trick. Wish me luck!

Sweet! The first is my favorite, it screams (well, not screams, says, lovingly) winter to me. I also like the second, very creative processing.
