Hey All,

The Demb Big Flip-it! Diffuser comes in 2 colors that have 2 different finishes on the white reflecting side. Please see below:

black-red-sm.jpg
Color Choice: Big Flip-it! is now available in classic black or retro red on the back. Front color remains white. The black back has a matte white surface; the red back has a glossy white surface.

Does anyone know what a matte vs. glossy surface do to the light? Mainly, my primary function is shooting weddings & portraits. Which in your opinion would be better & why?

Unless you're using the Demb to try to bounce the flash forward all the time I really recommend the original Flip-It. You really don't need the uber large reflector to use the Flip-It for how it was originally designed, which is a modification of a standard bounce card.

I like the standard version best and it works great in many traditional bounce situations. The concept of the variable hinge is brilliant except it does take some practice to learn how to use it properly.

The larger versions would be fine for dark ceilings and then I recommend a matte surface for better diffusion.

Umm Hmm!Joe Demb does! He is such a good guy. Why not write him and ask him about it. His product is good and after you chat with him via e-mail you'll soon realize why. He is a decent guy and has terriffic depth in photography. As far as I could tell what he says in the text of his site is what Ziggy refers to regarding size flip-it needed.

I bought three of them, one for each SB I have and love them. heres his E-mail link: info@dembflashproducts.com Please tell him tom wise said to write him~

    cheers, tom
