Can I use my domain name to my Standard SM account?

I made some research and I now know that the minnimum is the Power Account. I too had a look at www.smugmugdomain.com. I search for a name I want and it's available. I'm in Australia and the $ is showing $11.xx. is this aussie dollar?

Once I get a domain from smugmugdomain and up grade to Power account, would I be able to simply do some setup changes to my account to make my new web address work?

Also my brother-in-law has the Power Account and he tells me there is a significant increase in upload speed and under the standard account there is a limit of total upload file size per batch. Can you confirm this and I don't think so.

Not true- same for all account levels, and there's no limits "per batch"
