how to track search terms

Is it possible to see what people are searching for on my site?
I've got google analytics and I turned on the site search feature but it doesn't seem to be working. It's telling me "InUser" and my smugmug username are the words people have used. Obviously that's not correct.
I have the following list of words set as the query parameter: search, searchWords, searchType,InUser,NickName
and I have the "Yes, strip query parameters out of URL" option selected.
This combo isn't working so can anyone tell me what to do in order to see what search terms people are using?
Thanks

The most important parameter you want to capture is the 'searchWords' one. So just leave all the others out and simply enter searchWords.
Don't strip the parameters yet. As long as your search filtering doesn't work, I wouldn't want to strip the data out. Because, if you do, you might not be able to view the search data manually.
I'm able to see the searches on my site without having the fancy search filtering set. I just go to Content / content drilldown and then click on /search/ in the main window. That shows me all searches on my site with the search words just fine.
