Nice! I just love that background. Beautiful light, great detail and sharpness. Well done!

This is a very nice shot with very interesting elements.thumb.gif

I would like to see more room to the left of the bird if possible. If not...maybe you could add some canvas.

Dan, I am not a huge bird person but I keep coming back to this post. Something "regal" about it. Great light, background and sharp. clap.gif

This is great, all the way around. I like the background, the frozen water detail, and the clarity of the rather scruffy little finch. :D

I only wish there was a little more space to the left, it "feels" a tad crowded in the frame. Is a landscape orientation possible?

    Outstanding Image clap.gifclap.gif

The background and foreground elements were well thought out to make a top notch phoyograph. Job well done.....

Oh nice .... Now you are keeping birds in the house?! Almost like Harry's bird on a stick!

    Wonderful image and composition. Excellent.

Yes! That's it! Now the eye can "move" easily and sweeps up to meet the bird's eye.

    Excellent!

Agreed, I like the second one better. A lot of cool side elements (fountain, ice, silhouetted window) really add to the overall photo, and an excellent capture of the finch as well.

The second one seems more balanced. Very nice.
Dan, Iam out and about the same areas as you! I think we may be the only Tucsonains? Have you come across any others?
Ric, great link- adding canvas - learned something new again today!!

Thanks Amanda. There are lots of us in AZ, but I am not aware of anyone else in the Tucson area. What are your favorite place to shoot in the area?

I live in a rural area North of Marana, east of the 10-so I tend to just wander off our property. I do like to walk through downtown to people watch as well as see the historic/renovated bldgs & homes. I also just read somewhere -have to check it out though - that San Xavier Mission has removed the scaffolding that has been around there for some time due to the renovations -only temporarily so might need to get down there. I see from your pics you are at the water areas. Maybe I'll venture there after I finish saving & acquire the 70-200 2.8 IS -hopefully have it sometime this spring.
