Full sized available in it's gallery here.

This was sort of the opposite of Baldy's quest for ultimate resolution in a stitched cityscape. No foresight. No planning. No tripod. Just 5D Mark II and 50mm f/1.4. 1/40th at f/2.4 @ ISO 200. I made 4 shots, through the Lucite bubble around the stairs, then stitched them in PS.

This is never going to ring some sort of gigapixel bell, but it does show that you don't need to let this kind of opportunity go just because you didn't set out prepared to shoot it. I'm afraid it will be a long time before I get a chance to reshoot. *Sigh*
If not now, when?

Rutt, nice to see you around!! Although unconventional, I like this pano. It has all the great elements of Paris, but subtly. The foreground houses don't do much for me, but I love the architecture in Paris and know they are just as important in a shot of the city as is the Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame and the Tour Eiffel.

Thanks for taking us to Paris thumb.gif

    Rutt,

Nice to see a post from you. It seems like it has been awhile.

Nice job with the pano. The large version really does it justice.
