Problem with Cropping Tool

I use Photoshop CS3 and for some reason I am now having a problem with the Cropping Tool of which I cannot control properly. It only has the four points being in each corner. The other four points which should be between the four corner points are missing. How can I get these four points back in order to give me full control of the tool.
Regards
Bob

Most likely, you have the Width and Height set to non-zero values (like 4 by 6, or something). When these are set, the tool crops to a fixed aspect ratio, so you have fewer degrees of control (as the resulting crop has to have the Width and Height in the same ratio).

To fix it, erase the Width and Height values.
