A 25 minute exposure of the stars from my dad's driveway. I was pleased with the results. How about you?

Great photo, liked the choice of going with B&W I think it works well.

Haha, of course of course, my bad! That totally blows my mind now!
Thank you. Yes I was very pleased with the results. Took some working to get it the way I wanted it.

You've probably heard this already, but you have some great images that are difficult to enjoy and/or evaluate because of your watermark. I'd suggest something smaller and less distracting.
Jeff Meyers
Yes, well w/o hijiacking my own thread, I haven't figured out how to leave my watermark on my site, but remove it when I use the "share via link" feature to post a picture here. Otherwise I'd have to remove it from the photo, link the photo, then replace it. And the point of the watermark is so that if someone were to take the photo unauthorized, it would render the photo useless because something like that is a LOT more difficult to PS out than a little thing in the bottom corner. Hence why it covers so much of the image. A small thing in the corner with my name can be PS out very easily, this...a bit more difficult. Which is the main point of a watermark anyways right?
BUT, thanks for the comments on this as well as my other work. Much appreciated.

Ah, ye olde watermark debate. To each their own, but the rule of thumb on Dgrin is that we just ask people to respect the photographer's wishes on watermarks! We all understand theft being artists ourselves, and we all have different views on the matter.

Nice star trails. I too struggled about the watermark a bit. But I think that if you only allow paste the 'L' size, you will see that the file is not larger than a couple of hundred kb- and I am not sure if someone can really make prints of those. But like Schmoo says, to each their own. Honestly it's your work and you should feel free to protect it the way you see fit.
Cheers,

Thanks guys. I do want it viewed in the best way that it can be viewed, but also gotta have it protected at the same time. I don't know the best way to do this. I tried to make the lines thin, but not too thin. I dunno.
Anyways, thanks for the compliments on the photo.

Its a hard decision about the watermark, because I know you want to protect your image but at the same time make it easy for others to view. I guess I'm so used to seeing watermarked images that I hardly notice anymore, unless it is overwhelming. I think yours is fine. There is no foolproof way to protect it, even if you paste the "L" image in your thread, it would be very easy to view the source, get the link of the photo and change the link to display the original size. I think the dgrin community respects other artists' works, and I'd be shocked if anyone here is hijacking images, but you never know who might be trolling around.
