Today, is the first time I ever shoot a model, in a class workshop with fellow photographers from meetup.

This is AnnMarie, a beautiful gorgeous young woman, really fun to work with, pretty much she does all the pose herself.

C&C is welcome and appreciated.

    Welcome to GoFigure! thumb.gif
Congrats on your first model shoot! clap.gif
I agree, she seems to have a lot of experience, if all those poses were undirected. Nice body features, too!

    Interesting treatment! thumb.gif

While I like the variety of setups and locations (nice props, too:-) lighting seems to be all over the place.. rolleyes1.gif
Did you use your own lighting setup, or had a say in it, or was it set by the "mastah" and you just used whatever was set?

I'd also say your framing/cropping is a little bit uncertain. In a few cases you chipped off parts of your subject without a major need to do so, IMHO. Unless that was the effect you were going for, I would suggest either loosen up or tight down.

Great series overall, hope to see more work in the future! thumb.gif

    Thanks Nikolai.

The lighting is set up and provided by the instructor, if Im not mistaken, there are 3 strobes were used.

Each main photographer got to use the strobes for few minutes and the model pose mainly for him/her. The rest are free to shoot with available light or your own flash.

You're right, some of those pics are weirdly cropped, some because of the framing, since I wanted to try my 135 on the shoot, so, yes, not much room to play with (2,8)

The other weirdly cropped pics, also resulted from when I try to turn/tilt the framing in post processing to get better angle, some part of the body were clipped (5,6) headscratch.gif

But Im having a real great time, everyone there are so wonderful to work with, they gave me lots of hints and directions.

On a side note, my new 16GB Extreme III that just purchased couple weeks ago, I tried it for the first time yesterday, it died on me after couple hundreds shots, cannot be formatted in camera nor PC, still waiting some response from Adorama if I can get that replaced, luckily the images were able to be backed up before it completely died. :cry

    Thanks for the info!

I hear you about 135mm. Performing a perfect in camera cropping in an unfamiliar environment and under a certain level of stress (short time with the model, class, etc.) can be tricky. Once you get used to this you'll be able to nail it most of the time but initially I'd suggest to shoot a bit on a loose side, afterall not every eimage would immediately go to Getty :-)

Sorry about the card, glad to hear you were able to rescue the images. This is first time I hear about sandisk CF problems. eek7.gif

There are some nice shots there, well done.

I must say the slogan on the bottom gave me a chuckle in its present context. "....Precious moments" seems to conjure up images of kittens, and children and fairy floss. To see it under a semi naked women draped from a metal hook made me smilerolleyes1.gif

    Nice photos.
    C&C always welcomed.

    Cheers

    Very nice series!

That must've been a great seminar, with all the differing lighting intensities and set-ups! Do you feel like you could re-create these set-ups now?

And, I like your PP as well!

    Good job~

Thanks for mentioning the CF card....Glad you got these images from it!

    cheers, tom
