Include original photos with tear sheets?

I am updating my book for 2009 and it was suggested to me by one of the editors I routinely work with that I should include an original image along side the tear sheets. Kind of like a before and after.
I thought that it would be better to supply two different books. One with just tear sheets and one with photos that I believe are the best representation of my work.

I see that as being redundant and only add the tearsheets if they are well produced. Otherwise, I only add my edit of the image.
Hi Steve,
In my case, for my newspaper tearsheets I include a hi-quality 8.5 x 11" ink jet print opposite the newsprint version - and it looks very impressive (yes, just as you suggest - a before and after).
For any magazines tearsheets I always do a hi-res scan and 'merge' the pages together (when 2 or 3 page spreads) in PS and post on my web site - I don't show originals in this case as the mag will inevitably look better with its pro layout/design and normally there are multiple images involved - I don't even have a 'book' for these its all digital and sent via email or links to my 'ABOUT' page online...
Not sure about the 2 book concept as then you'll need space to put both out and show together or you lose any benefit - go with one book if newsprint (with color prints directly opposite) - one book if magazines/ads/etc (without prints) or one book with either of above and add some other prints/images that best represent what you're promoting (but not published per say) I don't see 2 books being beneficial to you or your image - many suggest only present 20 images anyhow...
