Looks like you masked in a texture? It almost gives the shot more drama. A good idea, but the right one?

If you are going to keep this mask and texture I would suggest not leaving the original bits at the edge of the photo there. I think it would look better that way.
But I do have to wonder if it is the total right decision. Maybe closer to the more natural look of the original shot would fit better with the theme of the shot being a very real, not manufactured, moment.
