Heads: CB Gimbal vs Mongoose 3.5

I'm looking to upgrade my tripod head from a cheap POS to a gimbal head for bird shooting. I have seen the new CB Gimbal and it looks incredibly well made and precise. Art Morris pushes to Mongoose 3.5 for heavier telephotos. The CB unit is $580 and the Mongoose is 500.

Anyone with experience or opinions on these two?
