Slideshow Display Question

On my home page I have a slide show.
One of my friends took a look at it from his home computer, and the slide show is displayed, and works as intended.
A few minuets ago he accessed the site from his place of employment, and the home page has the banner, and functioning nav bars, but no images or slide show.
I am thinking that the viewing computer needs some type of "flash" ? program to view the slide show, and his work computer doesn't have it.
Is this an accurate statement, and if so what does he need to download?

Here's a link for a test page to show the version of flash installed on the computer (if it is installed), and also with a link on that page on how to download the latest flash player - http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15507.
Or here's a link to the download page - http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/.
Did your friend see the smug splash, or nothing at all? I was told by someone else that they could see my splash image even on a work computer with flash blocked. You might want to change the splash parameter in the slideshow to point to one of your images instead of the smuggy image: --- Denise

Hi Denise,
Thanks for your answer.
I do however have a question or two. While I just looked up splash, I don't know if I would recognize it.
All my friend said was he could see the banner, the nav bars, SmugMug at the bottom of the page, and the center was blank.
He is in small company, and they wanted to see the site, but didn't know why they couldn't. I think once I e-mail him this dgrin page, they will download the flash program.
Now, if I change the existing code to the one you posted here, will the slide show play on computers with a flash player, and show the image I point to when the computer doesn't have flash player?

I'm not sure of the answer because I don't have access to a computer without a flash player. But someone in the last week or two told me they could see the opening image on my page (which is set up with the splash parameter in the slideshow) on a computer that didn't have flash on it.
Maybe one of the folks from smug can confirm that the splash image specified in the slideshow code will display if flash is not installed.
