On the Rocks in Acadia

I just had time for a trip to Acadia National Park after a large snow storm. I have driven between Belfast and Bar Harbor hundreds of times but on this day the landscape look new and alien to me. The snow in the park was amazing and made it worth almost crashing my truck on icy roads. I would reaqlly like to get some feedback on a couple of these pictures I will explain below.

My question deals with the next three shots they are composed slightly different from the previous shot, when I showed them to a member of my family she said that the spray in #9 & 10 was distracting Any C&C on this would be great, and of course feel free to chime in on any pictures in this post Thanks for looking.:D

    Wonderful shots, Peter! clap.gif

The more I get into photography, the more I like longer exposures, so I'm really digging your series.

That said, I think that a shorter exposure would have given you a better image on 9 & 10. Similar shots I've seen tend to work best when the splash is frozen in mid air and is nice a crisp. The waves in those shots look good, but I tend to agree that since the splash is blurred it's a bit of a distraction, pretty much smack dab in the middle of the frame. My eye keeps going there and not leaving.

    #7 is my favorite, but it's a tough call with #8! thumb.gif

I think these are all great compositions and I'm sure a beautiful place. The only thing I would experiment with is the temperature of the photos. They are all processed on the warm side, and it works for most of them, but #2 for example I would like to see what it looks like cooled down a bit. Great series!

The re-worked is my favorite. It looks more natural and chilly!

I got a chance to re-work a couple of other shots and tried some black and white treatments which I think turned out pretty good thanks for all of the great feedback!:D

Wow what stunning scenery! I think the colors you have here are magical, very warm and pastel and (to me) very much a New England kind of feel. thumb.gif

I like the second set, a bit cooler but still retaining that soft look that I associate with this place.
