Can I merge categories

I'm a newbie (forgive me). Since my photos are organised by year and date on my hard drive, I decided to create categories that mirrored this system. Once I had created a few YEAR-MONTH categories, I thought it would be smarter to just create YEAR categories instead. I can't see how (or IF) I can merge two categories into one. I tried renaming one to match an existing category by it told me I already had one named like that ... duh!

All you need to do is reassign your galleries to the new category.

Go to the customization screen for each gallery and select the category in which you would like the gallery to live.
