A company wants to use one of my photos on their site...

Hi,
I recently had a company ask to use one of my photos on their website. The company is definitely legitimate, and I would love for them to use one of my images. This is the first time this has happened, so should I have them sign some sort of document stating that they will only use the image for their site, and that I am still the owner of the image?

I am new to all of this, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Stacie

You can draw up a usage document detailing where and how long they can use your image. You can also have credit given back to you. Your usage document should be clear that you retain all copyrights to the image.
If you are charging them, be sure to place that amount in the usage agreement. Company X is paying $XXX for usage of photo for XX period of time.

I usually charge (insert your fee here) for web based images (Send low resolution images that are sutible for web usage - usually 1000 on the long side at 72dpi). Time period can be whatever you wish, I will quote 6 months and a year as well as a renewal fee once the term is up (renewal fee is at a discount).
