Twilight Trackdayz

I went with a couple of friend to a twilight trackday at the local track. All in all, a very pleasant way to spend a few hours. Of course, I have to share a few shots! I need a longer lens though! :D

This first one is of a Ducati Desmosedici RR. For those who don't know, this is essentially a replica of Ducati's MotoGP racebike, and costs a LOT of money. We have three here in Perth that I know of, and perhaps a fourth, so we're pretty lucky. Two of them are fairly regularly talen to the track, and it's good to see that they're being used for what they were intended - but the bad news is that they've both crashed in the last couple of weeks.

#1. Here it is in all its glory.

#3. And here it is looking sad after it crashed. Luckily, it's not too badly damaged.

And a few other shots.

#14. This didn't quite work, but I like the sense of motion.

I like #7, but I think a bluer sky would improve the image. Overall nice shots & I love the Duc...

Something like this, or is the grass a little over-done?

I'd rather see more head on or side-to-side panning shots.

Otherwise, these are nice shots. That RR is USD$85,000. A couple of the locals went in on one. She's a beauty for sure but I dunno I'd be up for riding that much money around--wouldn't mind owning a Duc at some point :D

I think the blue makes the sky less washed out, I think it adds. Everybody seems to do side to side pans of single bikes. I don't know but it seems to get ordinary. IMHO.

#7 is a unique shot. It could use a little more depth of field to bring the leader into more focus, but still its a nice shot; but next time Sventekoz we'll be watching thumb.gif
