good stuff, sid! nice to hear about how much everyone is learning.

i think your pic here could benefit from a wb blend in acr - the blue is saturated in the water and the tree branches.... give it a twirl!
Ooh, hadn't even thought about that. I'll try it, thanks.

Hey, do you remember Mark's tip for faking black and white points when you don't have 'em in your shot?
    Sid.

Ah, but the difference is, you asked for Marc's help. I ended up with shots like your first one, happily, and ignorantly shooting away with branches stuck in the side. You, my friend, were a much better student...
rolleyes1.gif That's kinda funny, each of us thinking the other has it down! Did your dappled light shots work out? Completely baffled me.

Dude... I think you mean you love all your shots that are nearly in focus. :)

Sid: great shots. By accident I was looking at my old shots taken in Yosemite in 1998 with my Minolta X700. Did you know Yosemite does not have a blue sky? They're all white in my pictures. The things I didn't know then, I still don't know...

Here's the tunnel view shot that I found so challenging. It wa shot just after dawn, and the reason it's B&W is that I found the light confoundedly difficult.

No, Sid, I forgot that completely. Could you please give a short summation? Please, would love that info.

I know what you mean I trashed a bunch of similiar shots.. I think you can bump up a the contrast some. The conversion IMO is a tad flat...

I love that shot, Sid. Could you please print, sign and send.rolleyes1.gif

So then Marc picked a different position, slightly different arch of branches. But this time I understood it a little better. You know, fool me once, all that....

I can't remember if we've seen Nikolai without his hat and sunglasses. This one's from Thursday night in SF, as the bellies began to swell with Italian food.

My hotel was well situated for good views. It has a skyway that gave a nice look at the Transamerica building, Coit Tower, the Marina district (I think) and the Bay.

We had what you might call changeable weather on Thursday and Friday. Here's what I saw from the skyway.
