Tree of Yester Year

[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Going back over some images from Dec 08. Can't decide which works best for this image color or B&W or image isn't worth keeping. Any CC comments on processing, composition or any other area greatly appreciated as I need to learn.

    Hmmm well they are both very nice, but I like the colours in the first one. Maybe the extra contrast with the B+W makes the sand a bit distracting.

    I prefer the black & white (but with less contrast). For whatever reason, I get the sense that the log is "floating" on the color version and not actually in the landscape. Weird..
