Bad Day in the Blind
Had a photo blind reserved but the birds did not cooperate. Duck numbers are down in the area and it was getting ready to rain so the light was not ideal. The ducks did not even come within 100 yds of the blind.
I did see a Black Rail which is a first for me I did not get a chance at a shot before he jump into the tules. So I left the blind and drove around Sacramento NWR
But the Ducks still gave me no respect.
But I did get a shot of the Rare Tule Geese, a Greater White Fronted Sub species.
An eagle even cooperated
And a Peregrine Falcon was roosting near to the Eagle
The mosquitoes had come out with the mild weather we have had lately and were really bugging the birds he was scratching them off. You can see a few spots in the other photos

The Tule Geese were exciting for me they are seen less than the eagles. Most of the time you overlook them due to all the other Pacific White Fronted Geese around.
Even the overcast worked giving things a bit of a high key look.
When someone gives you lemons, throw them back at them

I past through there in January and it was overcast and rainy all day.
I did manage to get some cool eagle and hawk close-ups.
Better luck on your next trip out there, although I think you did fine.
