Heyyyyyyyyyy I finally got out and took a couple of shots today whoohoo!
There is a walking track that goes for miles and miles or kilometres in and around Geelong.
Part of that Walking/cycling/Horse Riding Track goes through Drysdale/Clifton Springs where I live.
This shot was taken about half way down the section that cuts behind the Curlewis Golf Course.
Trust me I was looking for snakes the entire time I was out :rofl
Enjoy.... hand held shot, Canon 40 IR Modified by maxmax.com in USA.

I can see why you've gone into IR...it gives you the chance to see what your part of the world would look like if it ever snowed there!

This is a great shot. I think your capabilities with IR are really going to blossom. You obviously have a real talent in that direction.
I hear you about the snakes. You guys have WAY too many of the bad kind slithering all over the place.
Keep up the good work.
Tom
Very nicely done, looks like a neat location.
I don't blame you about the Snakes. I like seeing them in Zoos and on TV, but I'm not that familiar with them to know within a nano second whether they are good or bad boys.
Looking forward to seeing more.

A couple of things. First, there's a bit of a purple cast to the color? You can see it around the fringes of the trees. I'm not sure how you processed the channel swapping, but you may tweak the sliders a bit to move this more toward the blue/green spectrum. It's not that big a deal and perhaps you wanted it this way. If so, just ignore me.
Second, after swapping the red and blue channels some portion of the ground is often also blue. I see here that your path has a bluish cast. I recommend de-saturating that part of the image so that you have some contrast with the blue sky. A lot of this is personal preference. But I find this often helps. I think I'll post an example of this in a few minutes with my "dino tracks" shot.
I don't mean to take away from the quality of your image at all. Just a few suggestions from a nit-picker!

Trust me the snakes around here can kill you, so you really need to take care when walking in grassy areas, and I don't stay on the track.
I take my mobile phone out with me when I walk down that track,
figured if I did get bitten I could get help... well I take the phone with me where ever I go, it's a life saver that thing I tell you.
I have a trip to Sydney coming up end of April, hope to get some interesting shots up that way as I will be visiting an area I have never been to before just outside of Sydeny.
Thanks for looking Craig <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/thumb.gif" border="0" alt="" > .... Skippy

Well it does snow in Australia, but not in the part where I live.
I wouldn't like to think people get the wrong idea, yes Australia does have mountain ranges and ski fields they are just not in Geelong
IR does make things look like they're covered in snow,
That image in colour, you would not look twice at, the grass is all dead.
I wish it would snow hmmm but then I'd be posting nuffin but snowman pictures ... thanks for looking Jack ... Skippy

I might blossom if I'd get out there and take some photos
Got a couple of things lined up this year, like a trip to Sydney,
and I am hoping to go to the Airshow with my cousin next month.
I missed out last time, as we were promised some free tickets only the person doing the promising didn't come good with the tickets
Thanks for looking Tom .... Skippy

Thanks for the input Jeff, I knew I had pushed the limit with the Blue.
They have cut a lot of the undergrowth back since I walked down there last time.
I should go way down the other end of the track where the Old Rusted Train is and do some more shots there.
IR does indeed have a lot of personal preferences, and I appreciate the input, I find it encouraging to hear other peoples views on post processing.

Yeah, I know a lot of this is personal preference. Here's an example of what I was talking about. Originally, after the channels were swapped, the railroad tracks and rocks around the tracks were bluish (because they reflected the light from the sky). By desaturating that portion of the image I was able to draw attention to the dramatic blue sky and clouds. I think I also desaturated some of the buildings, too. Does that make sense? This is not a great image, but it is much better after desaturating the ground elements.
