What lens were you using?
jack- this 2nd instar nymph are about 11- 12mm in length and had just shed its skin which hadnt hardened off which is why the colour hasnt appeared yet.

maxine these will get quite large, female gets to about 5"+

I love all of these shots, but I think the eyes on the first one are outstanding! Where do you place the diffuser? Do you use a flash or just natural light.

learnin - i use a 430ex flash, coke can diffuser[aka-lord v design ] . held on a straight bracket with a small ball head to alter angle. diffuser is level with lens end at about 10 oclock position, do alter position alot depending on mag & available light angle

maxine - pics in separate thread show diffusers different sizes with different grades of diffusion material from manfrotto diffusion pack.
just trying different sizes, smaller ones not much good for less magnified shots above x2 mag, too small surface area.
