I know what I want to do, I just am not sure of how to get there.

I've been asked for templates for some of my photos. I signed up for bay photos. How do I add bay photos templates to smugmug photos to equal happy customers?

Inforamtion you may need to answer: I'm new to photography as a job, (as a hobby I have been taking photos all my life) so for now it is a side job and I most often shoot sporting events. I have not ever made my own templates as I have read suggested in other post. I have just started selling my photos and I'm not really that good at any of it, but I do have a love for photography, sports, people and animals, that I hope with classes I'm taking will one day will make me a better photographer.

Thanks for taking the time to help.

    Hi Lisa

I am not sure what format the Bay Photo templates come, but probably Photoshop. So you would need this to add your pictures to the layer below the template. You would have to do this on your PC as SM does not have this "on-the-fly" option like they have for their cards. There are a lot of templates available on the net....some free and some for a price.

Once you add your pictures to the template, you would save it as you would any other picture for purchase.

What you can do is create a sample gallery of the templates you have available and ask the clients to pic one to use for their picture. Numbering each one like template 1, template 2, etc

There are a lot of resources here in the forum for more information on this subject. Once you do a couple, you will be an expert at it. thumb.gif

The best bet is to get Photoshop or another app that can do layers....this is the key to the process

    Hope this helps somewhat

    Have fun
