My Moon Flower is budding! (any tips for capturing the flower?)

This plant produces the most beautiful blooms with a lovely fragrance, but they only last for one night. I'm going to try and catch all the stages of this bud, because it looks as though it'll be the only one for a while.

I'd appreciate any tips people have on how to capture very white flowers at night without blowing the shot out!

Oh my goodness!!! This is a night blooming cerius! My Mother has one of these...(well she passed away last year but Dad still tends to it) and it blooms like crazy. She has tons of pictures from her two plants! She literally pointed the camera and snapped the picture. Of course it was not a 'photograph' type of picture. I took a few of her chutes and after ten years it still has not bloomed!!!

These things leave a lovely fragrance. I know some nickname it as Jesus in the Manger due to the inside looking like a manger.
