Weird fungus

Spotted an odd looking fungus in the compost heap the other day, when I went to photograph it I saw that what I thought were white spore heads were in fact moving bits of protoplasm - they were waving about , disappearing and reforming (first 2 shots). Went to shoot it the next day and it had stopped moving about but had formed the odd structures in the last 2 shots.
All shots taken at 3:1 and focus stacked. Think this is a slime mould.

It was certainly very odd to see a fungus waving at you in the viewfinder

Well not too much. Don't think there are too many serious fungal pathogens about, but you are right - one of them is "farmers lung" caused by Aspergillus niger from compost heaps
