Thanks, Linda - yes, I'd seen the SM version of the same one.
I wish I could figure out *why* this one is so problematic; I suspect a combination of things, not least of which a slightly iffy WB in camera....
In any case, I think I'm getting closer overall (I hope so!) - I do know that I've learned a LOT about color work/balancing/adjusting while working this one, so that's the bonus for this round!!!
I've renumbered them for this batch - if you refer to an earlier one, please identify it as such so I don't get too confused.... :bash :giggle
As before, all feedback (calibrated and otherwise) on the way these look on other montors is HUGELY appreciated....
1. Straight attempt at decent skin tone but dark hat
2. An attempt at that "colorized" look you see on many old bw films (I hate it in films, but decided it might be an interesting look for this!) - it's converted to BW, but with the coloured bits added back in.
Okay. This is a comment on your the first post. I know that you've done a lot of work on #2. But I like #1. How's that for adding confusion and frustration. Sorry.

Ok, what I am really hoping is my Positively Final Last Version of this (although I would rather be told it's not right than not, so don't spare my feelings if it still sucks )

3. Colorized + a warming filter
4. Sepia
5. Straight B&W
:whew.
I like #1 of this batch. The "B&W" of the hat and scarf really makes the face pop. Well done!
