    Ric,

Welcome to dgrin! A great shot, and it's in your very first post!

It looks like you were spot on with the exposure. Lots of details back in the shadows, and the the white water is white but there is still detail in it.

Composition wise, the waterfall is balanced very well with the rock in the upper right of the image. The waterfall seems to lead the viewer out of the image, but the trees along the left edge help to bring the viewer back into the frame. I just wish the lower right corner was stronger. There are wonderful tones throughout the image, but the lower right feels very monochromatic. I'm not sure what could be done to improve it though. You can't just crop it because you would loose the rock and the balance it provides. Other than that, it's great! thumb.gif

By the way, nice presentation with the border and dropshadow.

wave.gif Hi Ric, thanks for stopping by. Classic shot. thumb.gif I'm not as good as some of our members at finding the EXIF, so I need to ask instead: with which camera did you shoot that, the Sony or the 10D?
    Sid.

...was the camera for this shot. I really worked for this angle. Very steep descent with alot of loose rock. Thanks for the look.

Definitely worth the effort. You and Andy have posted really nice shots taken with the f828. Quite a camera.

That white water is beautiful. I'm glad there's another 828 here...

...of public forums: A guy from Illinois takes a photo of a waterfall in Tennesse and it is viewed and commented on by someone from China!

The world IS getting smaller (and better, I hope). Now if we could only get rid of politics and politicians; we would have it made.

    Thanks for your comments.

Lovely. If I try hard enough, I can almost hear the water cascading down the rocks. Makes me with I was there.thumb.gif

...it was a roar. This is a large drop with plenty of water. Glad you liked it.
