SmugMug "Podcasts" don't actually work

Hi...

Back in April 2008, Don declared:

"I demand video to be awesome."

Further:
- Speaking of Apple devices, we provide a complete podcast RSS feed for your account that you and your friends can subscribe to with a single click in iTunes. All your iPods, iPhones, and AppleTVs will then magically stay up-to-date. All your online videos in your pocket, and your living room, all the time. Neat, eh?

Well, in an effort to workaround SmugMug's broken slide show, I wanted to use a 3rd party Flash video player to let me play videos within a slideshow, continously. JW Player can accept MediaRSS feeds (which are kinda sorta like Podcast feeds, thanks Apple), but it turns out that SmugMug's Album RSS feeds do not include videos.

But Googling for something else, I found Don's post, and thought, hey, Podcast feeds must have links to videos? Well... no, apparently they don't. I don't know if this ever worked, but it's broken now.

Here's my iPod podcast: itpc://darryl.smugmug.com/hack/feed.mg?Type=recentVideos&Data=darryl&format=itunes

When iTunes 8 tries to open that, I get a big cup of fail.

I guess nobody is actually trying to actually use this feature if it's been broken this long. But it'd be great for me to not have to custom-write my own fake RSS feeds so that I can have continuous-playing videos for my albums. (So not only would I like the "recent" podcast feed fixed, I'd love if you guys could make it work for albums too.)

    Darryl,
    Thanks for posting.

I'm sorry this upsets you so much. I'll ask one of our folks to look into it - I know this has worked so perhaps a bug got introduced.

The slideshow you call broken, well, I'm sorry that upsets you so much as well. We've bugged that behavior of videos in slideshow.

    Darryl,

The iTunes feed used to work just fine. It seems to have been broken recently. I've all ready reported this issue to our bugman Dustin.

    Sorry for any incovenience.
