Hi,

This location has been a popular choice for photographers in SG for a number of years and I think it's demise is imminent.

Built by William Napier in 1854. Sultan Abu Bakar of Johor was given the estate in exchange for his land at Telok Blangah. He had the house re-built in 1892.

Gutted by a fire in 2006, to be demolished in weeks/months.

This map is really interesting as it shows the surrounding demolition.

I've got my photomatix working again, so nearly all the photos have been processed through this filter.

I see a ton of abandoned building shots and after a while they all start to look the same. However your 4th shot is AMAZING. You have captured a wonderful scene and the processing and light in this photo really makes it speak to the viewer. I especially love the light and overexposed processing you used here. Most of these type of shots the processing goes down the dark and gloomy path, this shot however is the polar opposite and I think it is why it stands out! I see hope and life in this one!

Would love to hear from you on my blog, or website!

    Aww - thanks.

I wish I knew how to create the effect again (apart from the obvious white on white subject). I used 'replace colour' or 'match colour' thinking I was targeting the green leaves, but it seems to add a luminance to the whole picture. I don't think it is some thing I can replicate.
