I took a look at your gallery and thought you had a lot of well composed and creative shots. I'm viewing them on an uncalibrated monitor so I can't comment on color or lighting, but they all look good.
I love the shot of the bride and (I'm assumeing) mom with the reflection in the mirror.
My only suggestion would be to disable your shopping cart on the galleries that you say are not for sale......you can currently buy them.
Good luck and hope to see more from you soon.

By any chance is it Bmore as in Baltimore and is that the Cloisters? I am originally from MD and use to volunteer there during the summer in high school! Ah, memories.
I wandered through your wedding samples and was actually quite impressed (FWIW ). Sheri has a point about clutter. But, based on her comment, I thought it was going to be a lot worse that it turned out to be.
Something I've learned in the last year or two - look at the background first, even before putting the camera to your eye. One example in your samples is the group shot under the tree. Twenty seconds work (moving the bench a couple of feet) would have afforded you the opportunity to keep the trunk of the tree from gowing out of the lady's head.
Second comment - for your set shots think about getting the lighting to come from anywhere but from the direction of the camera. Even with an external, camera mounted flash, you can bounce it off a wall and get some very sweet light.
There are a few exceptional shots that I really like (if you want these removed, just say so)
1. The processing is wonderful on this and I like it better than the one you posted because he's into her instead of paying attention to the camera - it just looks like a more intimate shot to me ... more of a wall hanger.
2. though it is a touch "flashy" I like the composition and brides personality shows through so well!
Over all, I really like the photos you've selected for your portfolio. I would love to take a look at an entire wedding shoot when and if you have the opportunity and desire to make one available for viewing.
Really looking forward to seeing more of your work.

I really wish this shot would have used off-camera flash... the on-camera is making some very distracting and contrasty shadows that end up 'hiding' the couple a bit. A softer (or no) on-camera with a light 2-stories down (in front of them, ground level) would have really rocked the house here, imho.
Still good as-is (way to use your enviroment) but it just feels a bit 'busy'.
Here is a wedding website I created for a customer as a value-add. Comments appreciated.

Jonsey- Yes that is Baltimore "Hon" and that is the Cloisters. I did try cropping that photo as you suggested but it took away the appearance that she was looking out her living room door and made it look more "set up"
Sherri, yes there is some clutter but no where near as bad as when I arrived at the brides house. Most of the time the living rooms are covered with flower boxes, shoe boxes, glasses, bottles etc. As anyone who has shot a wedding knows things usually do not go as planned. Brides aren't ready, bridesmaids or family are late. Your time there is limited and you can only spend so much of it cleaning up. As these shots are not studio set ups some clutter is expected. Especially nowadays when brides are expecting several hundred shots in a small amount of time. I suppose I could have posted only the perfect shot without clutter but that wouldn't be a true representation of my work.
Scott- I shoot my entire wedding with a single on camera flash. As I get older I find it necessary to simplify things as much as possible. In the future I will be posting full weddings to my SM site. These files were thrown together as I was setting up SM and learning how to use it. I threw in just a random sampling of my photos and it shows in my responses here. I will renew my sample files as time permits. The picture by candle light is the one that I sold in 16x20 and the one that hangs in my studio. It was definitly the better choice. I'm sure it loses a little in translation but it printed up great. Again, on the stairway there was no time for lighting set up so this is shot with a single on camera flash with a reflector I made myself for the Quantum Q flash. I hope my remarks are taken for what they are, explanations and not excuses. I promise I will learn something from this post and i'm sure some of these things will pop into my head as i am shooting this year. Thanks agin.
