I photographed the avocets and brown pelican at Mission Flats near Bayside, Texas. The Oystercatcher was on a small island in Aransas Bay near Rockport, Texas.

Living in AZ I understand why, but a bit to the west and I bet you would find several. Thanks for looking.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Oyster catchers walking around on a bed of oysters. Radical, Stephen. I'm not being sarcastic--you never see them photographed in their namesake habitat.
    And great photos, too.

Very nice set, Stephen. The oyster catchers are very cool, and the avocet shots are fine as well.

You know, John, I never really noticed that while taking the photos. I was just happy to get closer than I ever could before. :D Thanks for the comments.
