Great shot from my untrained eye.

If you've never had the mispleasure...I mean pleasure of reading heart of darkness than you can just watch Apocalypse Now which is Coppola's view of heart of darkness placed in the context of the Vietnam war.
Normally, I would like to see more detail in both the highlights and shadows but this image is perfect just the way it is. It would probably look amazing as a 24x36 printed on metallic paper.

Glad you like it, Michael. Thanks for your comment!
This is a eucalyptus forest and alpine stream in the Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park in Tasmania, Australia, a wilderness area.. The shot was taken in October last year. It was snowing/raining/misty.

Many thanks Kyle for your interesting comments. Yes, Conrad, the Congo, Heart of Darkness, Apocalypse Now and Coppola...
The shot is darkly moody, but fortunately the subject is really benign. To me it's more the darkness before revelation, sleep before waking... than anything sinister.

With the exception of the elevation in the background, this looks like many of the rivers I explore here in Florida. Very well done....captures the mood perfectly.

Thanks for your comment, Andrew!
This water was the same colour as the eucalypt leaves - a pale grey-green.
