LR 2 overwriting existing images in different folder possible?

Workflow:
Ingest all images to one folder called "Import"
I then add metadata, tweak to taste then move them to the directory they will live in.
Problem:
Sometimes I have forget to clear the memory card and end up w/ identical images in the import AND destination folder. Instead of LR giving me a option to cancel or overwrite it just tells me the file name "xxxxx.xxx" already exists at the destination. Then kills the entire operation and doesn't give me a chance to move the remaining images (that aren't dups) to where they belong so I can just address the dup issue.
Is there any way to have LR ask me to everwrite etc?
