Hi y'all,

Lately every time the phone rings it seems to be bad news. Somebody is sick, somebody lost their job, somebody's 401K has gone from $200,000 to a buck fifty. :yikes

After a bit I turn off my cell, hop in the car and take some pics. On weekdays there will be one of two photographers at the wetlands or if I'm lucky no one but me and I find a bit of peace.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I love the first and last shots where we get to see more of a perspective on the area where all these great bird photos come from. thumb.gif

Thanks Erik, I periodically throw a few landscapes in to give an idea of the setting for my images.

Those are some fantastic shots, Harry. I especially like the first one which represents a peasefull time in the wetlands. I also like that shot of the grebe.... you don't see them flying that much.

    Fine set, Harry. thumb.gif

The Green Heron with the ruffled feathers is very cool.

Was the tone in the first shot natural...if so...extra cool!clap.gif

Thanks Dan. You have to remember that I've been taking pictures for awhile. I've only started doing wildlife photography for the last 4 1/2 years.

    Thanks Ric,

The tone in the first shot is pretty much reflects the actual scene. This is the time of year when if we get some ground fog the sunrises create a scene with yellowish tones.

Here's the same scene from exactly one year ago.

That last shot looks like some of mine in late December. Took a while until you could see anything clearly :D

Very fine work Harry. Sets a nice mood.

    been there....
and done that! i've always enjoyed the quiet and concentration of being out in/near nature early and without the crowd. I think that's why i gravitate towards birds and other wildlife - it takes a little skill, alot of practice, and requires enough concentration that you cant think about the rest of your troubles. enjoy and btw, nice shots! best...KT

Harryb! Your first shot is stunning - haunting - lovely.thumb.gif

    The last is lovely, too.

I also like the green heron, it has "character"! mwink.gif Sun was in the perfect position.

As usual excellent images, Harry. I agree with prior posts too that it's cool to see the landscapes of the area. You posted some nice ones with your images from Bosque too. Thanks for sharing.
