different levels of privacy?

hello everyone.

I'd like to set up my smugmug page with these different levels of privacy: in one particular album, I'd have photos that would be available for anyone, with a XLarge size limit. then, I'd have a few pictures in the same album that would be available for specific people, like friends and such, at any size (that setting could be for the entire site). and then maybe a few of them that would be hidden altogether.

why? suppose I create an album of my trip last weekend. there's a bunch of pictures that could be seen by anyone, but then the pictures of me and my friends would be only available for them. lastly, I'd hide those pictures that aren't really interesting or worth showing anyone but I wanna keep for some reason.

I currently have a password for the whole site, but then only my friends can see it. I know you can have password protected galleries, but then I'd have to create different albums for the picture in those albums I wanna make available to anyone.

well, my suggestion, if there's no way to do such thing, would be to unfold the "hide" button into "hide to anyone", "show only to friends" (through the use of a site password, or a registered smugmug friend), and "show to anyone". and the ability to bulk edit that would be nice as well.

or is that something that's available some other way?

thanks!

seems like you guys are working on enabling virtual galleries. I guess that would take care of it, if you could have your whole site protected by a password but still be able to create virtual galleries accessible by anyone...
