I sure hope I got this high key business right. How much detail needs to be left in? I made 4 attempts -- your C&C will be much appreciated. Thanks!

I still need to come up with a caption. I was thinking of something like "Around the Bend". Too corny?

Maybe caption it "Into the mist" or "Into the Wonderland" ??
I'd like to see it in the B&W convertion as mentioned by unclemu.
Tim
As you wish.

This is nice, but I have to say I prefer the original 8x10, it just seems to be "warmer" in feel.

Yes indeed. That's a really good point. Normally dead, leafless trees just ruin a good landscape. But not here!

Linda I love this crop, picture, and tone best of them all. I love winter landscapes. My husband and went to Ma last year and when traveling through PA he promised to take me back there in the winter to do landscapes.
I love the pictures you put up for the challenges from where you live. I like the simple title "Home". Just a a suggestion.
Peace, gail
Gail, any time you want to come up this way, give me a holler! We'll go out and do a shoot.
I tried to make a shot similar to #1 some years ago from that same spot but could not get it right. At the time I had no clue what high key was nor did I have a clue on how to process it properly. It wasn't until this Challenge that the light bulb went on. It's nice to have Dgrin your life!

Hey, I am certainly going to take you up on that so don't forget!!!:D

I'm not sure I completely agree with that, assuming they're a principle subject and not some distracting side element. They have a lot of character, and depending on the treatment, can make the photo look ominous/foreboding, or calm and peaceful.
Anyway, I prefer the first shot, it's great! High-key, to me, is more difficult than low key as far as landscapes go.
