How did I get the shot? There's a wild bird sanctuary just west of us. They put the birds out on perches regularly. You can get fairly close with a telephoto. I think this is about a 250mm shot.

I captured something similar last summer. But I went back this week to get up close and personal.

When shooting subjects like this, having the eyes in sharp focus is mandatory. I think the first two missed the mark slightly as the prime point of focus is on feathers and beak just before the eyes, but I still like the shots.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

I agree, Tom. It's one of the big problems I have with these. Sigh.

Very Linda Blair'ish (from the Exorcist) hehehehe!

I love the colours you have obtained in the second shot,
and you already know the eyes are not in focus.

Hope you get another chance to shoot an Owl again thumb.gif
Thanks for sharing .... Skippy :D
