Hi guys,

I'm wondering if this can be considered a Low Key photo:

If it is what do you think about it?

    It's a fun shot! thumb.gif

But I'm not really sure where to draw the line at low key so take my comments with a grain of salt. The photo looks contrasty to me and that's fine. But the low key shot examples I've seen deal more with deep shadows as if the subject is emerging from the darkness of the shadows. ne_nau.gif

I think it can be considered Low key.

    What I think about it?

I think it has a poor central theme. Photos of folks eating are typically showing the social aspect...how they are interacting with others, since eating is often a social event.

I think this same shot with the fella engaging only the camera would be better.

    cheers, tom

Well this one was not interacting with anybody at that time, except with us... it was on the street,
    in the plaza of Cozumel.

What do you mean by "ngaging only the camera would be better"?

Anyway, I have 2 more shots I'm thinking about - I just couldn't upload them yesterday, because of the poor connection.

What do you guys think about this 2 below in terms of "Low key"

Yes, lucky, indeed - since we both work on the computer, we are trying to travel and work
in the same time (as much as possible...). Also since we made the mistake of buying a time-share
program and cannot re-sell it, we thought to spend as much "points" as we can(for 20 years)...
So, in a way, lucky yes if we look only at the shiny face of the moon...

However, in terms of photography I had the opportunity to take some very nice shots - I'm getting better and better everyday :)

    Ditto!thumb.gif

What I meant about engaging the camera only was: Just posing or sitting; portrait style.
