    Dang. Garmisch, huh?

Passed through that area a loooooooong time ago, while on my way to learn some sailing in Chiemsee.

    Good capture!

    Howdy Robert,

Welcome, What a beautiful opening shot.

Like the others, seeing the Title brought back a flood of wonderful Memories,

1973, spent 3-4 nights in the area with a bunch of Army Buddies. Remember looking out our Hotel Window to see the Ski Jump Tower.

Looking forward to seeing "Much" more of your work.

    Kindest Regards,

    Craig
    Take care,

Thanks for the very warm welcome from everyone, its nice to read the replies after a hard day at work. :D

Garmisch does tend to be the one place everyone visits when they come to southern Germany, its a real party town, more so in the winter with giant inflatable dinosaurs and mad ski jumpers......

Will do my best to post more, but I don't get to shoot anywhere near as much as I would like to.

    Cheers,
    Robert.

Welcome to Dgrin. Garmisch is a pretty cool place. I skied there a few times, but mostly headed to Salzburg area. I know that at some of the resorts in Austria they have that cool summertime luge ride down a metal half pipe...Do you know if they have that at Garmisch in the summer?

    Hi Leaforte,

had a look around and it seems the prefer the natural approach. They have several kilometers of pathways for luge, but mostly in wintertime. No metal pipes as far as I can see.

    Regards,
    Robert.

Hi Robert and a great, peaceful photo!

When I was in Germany a couple of years ago, we went through Garmisch to get to our teeny little hotel in Grainau. I'm not exactly sure why I picked that place to stay because it was so far out of the way, but it was so quiet, lovely and close to the Zugspitze. Garmisch was a huge contrast to that!

Hope to see more photos from you here in Dgrin. wave.gif
