Winter Deer

I'm not sure what kind of deer these are, but the melting snow led a number of them to congregate on a nearby hill at Grants Farm here in St. Louis county.
I thought the white snow made a white vignette work. I think.
And here's a high key version of the same. But I don't know if I like it as much.
I'm mostly a landscape and city guy, so I'm not confident about my wildlife shots. What do you think?

More Photography . . . Less Photoshop [. . . except when I do it]

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Having both to look at I vote for #1, to me, by comparison, they look just a bit "too light" in the high key. But I like the lighter background behind them in the high key. I'd also like just a little more space on the left edge.

Thanks, Harry & Jim. I appreciate the comments. The exposure wasn't too difficult. Just a +1.0 EV to compensate for the snow.
Here's the image without the vignetting.

I do hunt, Dan. But not these beauties.

I like it without the vig. Nice anyway!
Photographing wildlife is sooo much like hunting!
Ditto on the vignetting. I like it without.
