Bald Eagle Fishing

Last spring I took a coulple of series of a mating pair of bald eagles fishing near their nest. One series was in pretty poor light and the images have been sitting in my files. To while away the winter hours I've been cleaning up files and working on my PP skills. Combination of the two has recovered a few more images previously overlooked.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks for the comments, guys. Yeah, Steve, understandable why you haven't seen a bald eagle. You've got quite a few critters down there that I've never seen either :cry Getting closer though. Made it as far as NZ last year ne_nau.gif

Great shots, but something about that last shot really gets my attention. It's a beautiful shot although the birds tail may be a little hot. The light background really seems to make the shot. Great job.............

Thanks, Ira. And you're right about the hotspot on the tail. Thanks for pointing it out. I went back and looked and the RAW image is good but I must have gotten a little carried away with kicking the contrast up when I converted to jpeg to publish to the web. I'll fix it this afternoon during the game.

15524779-Ti.gif For me it is the angle of the wings that appeals to me. It would be even better if the eagle would have cooperated a little more and let you see the backs of both wings...

Thanks for the comments, folks. I felt pretty good about recovering these culls until I saw Dave's images in another thread. Now they just look like culls again :cry Something to shoot for this spring I guess...

The overall tone in the first image is great, excellent job on the whites, the darks however are a bit "blocked up" on the bottom two images and could use some shadow recovery. The last image is nice as well with the background and seeing all of the topside feathers. These would probably have to be about the best Eagle images I've seen on this particular forum.

Mike, I appreciate the comment but you obviously haven't seen Davev's images here.
