hmm..I actually like these shots. Nice lighting, vivid colors, good comnposition though it could use a little cropping to my taste. What I like about it the most I guess is just good/atrristic use of simple subjects.thumb.gif

The light looks great. What size umbrella are you using here?....shoot through white?...and what are you using for the light source?

Sunpak 383 triggered by cactus remotes shot through a 40" white umbrella. I could not believe how much a difference the umbrella made and how much more easily the flash was balanced with ambient light.

    Thanks guys!

I love them! It cracks me up that they are both wearing capris (or as one of my friends used to call them for guys-shants). The lighting works really well for the look you were going for. Great job! I can wait to get my shoot thru!
How much PP did you do? I'm just curious how much of the look was from the lighting and how much was from editing.

    That first shot is awesome!

Shes a model! Why are his pants rolled up?

I agree with the fact some of these need some cropping.

Editing consisted of levels and sharpening. Ambient light was underexposed 2/3-1 full stop.

TTL? No such thing on that flash. I'm on a student budget :cry.

I think the loose cropping fits the color and somewhat cartoony feel of them. They COULD be tighter, but it wouldn't make them "better".

As far as his pants, that's how they roll in Carlsbad haha. She is totally photogenic. Here's another picture I took of her back in May:

I get the flavor of "New Americana". Great set. Slight crop, but I love the feeling of what you have here.

These are great. I like the vivid colors and personality. I'll agree with others that the girl is awesome in front of the camera.
