Yup. Just Googling "paul simon song about film" retrieves that answer immediately, btw.
The moderators and admins have discussed using Captcha for forum registration many a time over the years as a way to help keep the spammers out. Having a registration question instread was deemed a lighter method, and nearly as effective for spammer filtering.
Personally, at other forums where Captcha is activated, its been a PITA to use. More than half the times I haven't even been able to make out what the letters or numbers were. Even worse if you need to plod through Captcha to conduct a quick forum search. Yet, Captcha is the stronger option - just less desirable.

i just have to say... i am a free-lance web developer that has worked on multiple fortune five-hundred sites and your human, question based captcha is going to turn away 90% of your registrants if it was anything like my experience. "Paul Simon wrote a song about a film. What type of film was it?" = Kodachrome. I mean seriously????? I almost just said f-it. That is toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. And i deal with the spam issue all the time. If you are going to use question based captcha... Say... "I am x... who am i?" or else you lose registrants... and still keep out bots!
Crazy... hope the rest of my smug mug experience gets better after this and an already feeble api experience.

P.S. Not trying to be mean, but you guys really got my goat on many failed points. I wouldn't be dealing with you if i didn't have to for a friend. You can try IP blocking or deleting/banning this account.... but... i am looking/hoping my experience improves with you guys. I just want you to know additionally... I NEVER complain about anything. Even when there is a hair in my food.

I know. Everytime it plays on the radio, I now think of many things. The film. My youth. And the DGrin question. And we just changed the registration question again to something not that old.
